Replacing/Installing New Soakaways
Everything you need to know about our works
Soakaways act as an overflow for septic tanks
Soakaways vary in size according to the size of the septic tank. Pipework has to be installed from the septic tank to the new soakaway area.
Special ‘crates’ are used in the ground that allow water/liquid to disperse in the ground / or to ‘soakaway’
Over years the ground becomes water-logged and they stop working. This can also happen in periods of constant heavy rain
Whether a soakaway is part of the installation of your new septic tank or you have problems with an existing soakaway you can rely on our expertise to give you the best advice.
If the ground around your existing septic tank is constantly water-logged and your tank keeps filling up, it could well be the sign that you need a new soakaway installed.
If a soakway stops working your septic tank will constantly be full and need emptying very often and this will be very costly, as the water/liquid in the tank has no where to go, so remains in the tank
Often a completely new septic tank/sewage treatment plant needs to be put in as well, as these can break down and come to the end of their life over years of use.
New tanks ensure that the water/liquid coming out of the septic tank and going to the soakaway is not contaminated and complies with current Environmental Agency legislation.
Whether a new installation or a potential replacement we carry out site surveys to ascertain correct size needed, approprate location, groundworks required etc.
